Boite de verre pour amateurs d’art

Plus qu’un nouveau lieu, The Art Box de Jane Griffiths est un concept. Un concept ultramoderne, totalement tendance, farouchement branché, dans la pure tradition new yorkaise. C’est à l’Underground Bar, que la galériste d’art contemporain de Val a choisi d’installer une boîte de verre de 70m2 qui tiendra lieu d’espace d’exposition et de vente. Dans une ambiance cosy et lounge, on trouvera les œuvres décalées des plasticiens en vogue Robert Combas, Pierre Mathieu (photo), Antonia de Felipe, des installations contemporaines, des bijoux signés Vivien Westwood, des totems délirants, des sacs de créateurs, d’artistiques céramiques. Dans ce lieu transparent où l’art se donne à voir de toutes parts, il sera fort agréable de boire un verre au son des concerts live qui animeront ce lieu unique ouvert de 17h à 22h.

A glass box for art lovers

Jane Griffiths’ Art Box is more than just another gallery: it is a completely new concept. Ultramodern, totally hip and trendy, it is more like something out of New York. Val d’Isère’s contemporary art gallery owner has installed a 70m2 glass box in the Underground Café on the main street. The space will be used for exhibiting all types of modern art in a cosy, lounge atmosphere, with works by top artists such as Robert Combas, Pierre Mathieu (photo), and Antonia de Felipe. There will also be contemporary installations, jewellery by Vivien Westwood, wacky totem poles, designer handbags, and ceramic sculptures. Go and have a drink and enjoy a live band in this unique spot with its all-round view of the best of modern art. Open from 5pm until 10pm every day.

Works by Pierre Mathieu and Patrick Chappert-Gaujal made a striking impact in the entrance corridor.

Pierre Mathieu's installation brought a ski theme to the reception area.

L’installation de Pierre Mathieu a donné un esprit de ski à l’acceuil.

The nudes inside seemed to be having a great time, and drew much interest from everyone.

Il semblait que les nues dans la télécabine faisaient la fête, et elles ont tiré l’attention de tout le monde.

Pierre Mathieu and Patrick Chappert-Gaujal were great helpers throughout the fair.

William Sweetlove's red dog was the star of the show, and a big hit with the TV cameras.
